Christmas Newsletter 2019
Welcome to September Everyone.
What a wonderful summer we had. We had loads of beautiful days out in the gardens and took great advantage of the bright and warm sunny afternoons that the sunny south east provided us with.
We had a fantastic day at our annual Summer Tea Party. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. Between Nick and the singing, Our in house dancer that is Hilda, Wonderful sweet treats from Paula in the kitchen and Yummy Ice Cream from Scup Gelato, our neighbours, the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody.
Our two new lovely day rooms are up and running in Roxborough and Ronans. They are Beautiful, bright rooms which are great improvements for both units. They both provide space which will be great for more activities which are due to commence this month in house.
We have two big announcements for you:
Our Matron, Mairead, has decided to move on to her next challenge and will be stepping down from her role as Matron/Director Of Nursing after 15 years with us at the end of this month. We will all miss Mairead very dearly and wish her all the best in her new adventures.
After an interview process we are delighted to announce that Mary Shanley will be appointed as our New Director Of Nursing on Mairead’s Departure and will be accompanied by current deputy manager, Julia Miller as her Assistant DON. Both ladies know the house and will no doubt settle into their new roles very nicely.
Tea Morning Invite
We will be hosting a fundraising Tea Morning on Thursday the 5th of October from 10.30 til 12.30 in aid of Hospice Homecare. Wexford Hospice Homecare is a fantastic Service for our community and work with us and people in their own homes to enhance palliative care for all patients and residents.
We hope you can all pop in for a cuppa and a slice of cake to show support for this fantastic service.
About Wexford Hospice Homecare:
County Wexford Hospice Homecare service was established in 1991 by a voluntary committee to provide a home based Specialist Palliative Care Service in County Wexford.
The aim of the service is to enhance the palliative care of patients in the home and the community, and to support and assist their families and professional carers.
This service is available to people throughout County Wexford. The service is provided by a group of specialist palliative care nurses.
The service is funded through voluntary donations from organisations and individuals throughout the county. It is also supported by an annual subvention from the HSE.
All money raised in County Wexford stays in County Wexford.
